2016 Music Theory Workshop

If a composer could say what he had to say in words, he would not bother trying to say it in music.

In this four-day camp, students will enjoy a four-hour group program of music theory, music-making, arranging and conducting.

This year’s workshop will be held on Tuesday thru Friday, July 26th – 29th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m..


Classes included:

  • 2A – Beginner’s Composition (Sentence Structure)
  • 2B – Period Structure & Small Ternary Form & minor chords
  • 2C – Beginning Song writing
  • 2D – Hymn Writing (4-Part Choral)
  • 3A – String Quartet – Sonata Form – Conducting 101
  • 3B – Woodwind Quintet – Theme & Variations – Conducting 102
  • 3C – Brass Quartet – Trio & Minuet Form – Conducting 103
