Each year, Muntean School of Music hosts a movie concert for its students to appreciate film music.

This year’s 8th Annual Movie Concert will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 5:00PM. The location for this event is at 5225 Hillsdale Blvd., Sacramento, CA. The students will be performing pieces from movies, such as: The Hobbit, The Wizard of Oz, Transformers and many more. (Orchestra rehearsal begins at 4:00PM)

This event is free and we encourage you to invite your friends and family.

2013 Country, Bluegrass & Folk Music Jamboree

Each year, Muntean School of Music hosts a Country Jamboree for its students to appreciate Folk music, Bluegrass and Country style music.

This year’s 5th Annual Jamboree will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 5:00PM at 8144 Auburn Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA. The students will be performing pieces such as: Boil Them Cabbage Down, Bus Stop Reel, Old Joe Clark and many more.

2013 Jazz Concert

Discover America’s original musical art form at the this Jazz Concert – a free concert bringing jazz culture and performance to the local area.

This year’s concert will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013, 6 PM at Trinity Life Center, 5225 Hillsdale Blvd., Sacramento. The interactive concert will give the audience an opportunity to learn about the distinct qualities of jazz, and why it’s a reflection of our community, our nation, and our world!

MUSIC MAKES THE BRAIN GROW

In the April 23, 1998 issue of Nature, Researchers at the University of Munster in Germany reported their discovery that music lessons in childhood actually enlarge the brain. An area used to analyse the pitch of a musical note is enlarged 25% in musicians, compared to people who have never played an instrument. The findings suggest the area is enlarged through practice and experience. The younger the musicians were when they started musical training, the bigger this area of the brain appears to be.

Muntean School of Music hosted its 9th Annual “EndFest” on Saturday, June 29, 2013.

This year’s concert was held at 8144 Auburn Blvd, Citrus Heights. The  audience had an opportunity to hear the winners of this year’s MSM Music Competition for Piano, Strings, Guitar, Brass & Woodwinds, and for the first time, the Vocal division. Student compositions were performed – Damaris Filip debuted her string quartet More Than Conquerors, Opus 5, No.1 and Ciprian Ilies debuted his string quartet Summer Rain, Opus 5, No.1.
